Eat for your Life, not-for-profit, community café will be open on Mondays and Tuesdays. The café will also be available on other days to local community groups and the coffee and food will be free of charge for those in need. Staffed by our hospitality trainees completing a return to work program, the cafe is not only a place to meet but also a training facility. Our aim with this café is to create a welcoming, safe space where people in the community can gather, chat, meet up and enjoy a beautiful Merlo coffee and some delicious homemade food.

As part of our community Eat for Your Life utilises food which may have otherwise been wasted, from sources such as Oz Harvest and Second Bite, to create free meals to those in need in our community. Our hospitality trainees plan, prepare and package healthy and nutritious food for our community. The Eat for your Life community café will be the collection hub for these meals or if necessary, we can arrange to deliver them to the local community groups.

The successful applicants receive training on the job with Eat for your Life and expert tuition from The Institute of Culinary Excellence. This program will help prepare participants for successful hospitality careers.
